Our goal is for the pet experience to be an enjoyable and positive one by providing products that are designed and manufactured with quality and practicality in mind.
Scott Pet was established in 1975 by Mr. Tom Scott (who retired from the company in 1996). It expanded from a three-person garage operation specializing in sporting dog supplies to an employee base of 200 with over 400,000 square feet of manufacturing and distribution space. We now manufacture and distribute over 4,000 items.
In 1995 our operations moved from Indianapolis, 50 miles west to rural Rockville, Indiana. With this move the company was able to expand into the Wild Bird Seed category, which now accounts for 30% of sales. We are one of the largest producers of Natural Treats in the world. Our newly expanded facility in Tishomingo, OK boasts 80,000 square feet of freezer storage and cooking and smoking ovens, all maintained to USDA standards.
From the curved buckle which we introduced over 30 years ago, to the adjustable collar, to the suitcase style fold-up crate (all of which are now industry standards) to our more recent stand-up wild bird seed packaging, Scott Pet is always looking to "build that better mousetrap."
