Q: Are Pork Chomps good for cleaning my dog's teeth? Are Pork Chomps good for cleaning my dog's teeth? A: Yes! When your dog chews on Pork Chomps, the chewing action scrapes away plaque, controls tartar buildup, and helps stimulate gums. This diminishes bad breath, keeps teeth whiter, and reduces the risk of potentially serious dental problems. All chews satisfy your dog's innate urge to chew. They also help to relieve teething pain, giving your puppy a beneficial (and acceptable) item to chew on when teething. And since Pork Chomps are made of pork skin, they are safer and easier to digest than beef rawhide! As with all dog toys and treats, always supervise your dog while he is enjoying Pork Chomps.    Q: Are Pork Chomps safe for puppies? Are Pork Chomps safe for puppies and what age should the puppy be before trying them? A: Yes. Pork Chomps are safe for most weaned puppies, and in fact, provide a suitable outlet for a puppy's insatiable desire for chewing! Of course, Pork Chomps are only a "treat" and should not be used to supplement your dog's diet. As with all dog toys and treats, always supervise your dog while he is enjoying Pork Chomps.  Q: How often should Pork Chomps be given to my dog? How often should Pork Chomps be given to my dog? I would like to maintain my dog's weight and health. A: Our ongoing research has shown that Pork Chomps, when given as a treat, are safe for dogs to consume on a daily basis. The calories from 1-2 Pork Chomps per day will not have a detrimental effect on your dog's diet or overall health. Remember that moderation is key. As with all dog toys and treats, always supervise your dog while he is enjoying Pork Chomps. Q: How digestible are Pork Chomps for my dog? How digestible are Pork Chomps for my dog? A: Unlike beef rawhide products, which are not easily digestible, pork skin has tested at over 95% digestibility in lab analysis. Pork Chomps are a safer and more digestible alternative to rawhide, and dogs prefer them 9 to 1 over beef rawhide! As with all dog toys and treats, always supervise your dog while he is enjoying Pork Chomps. Q: How safe is the manufacturing of your products? I noticed that your products are made in China. Should I be concerned because of the recent recall of pet products being produced in China? How safe is the manufacturing of your products since they are not made in the US? A: Of course you should be informed about any product you use on, or give your pet, whether it is the safety of their chews, the content of their food, or the security of leads and containment systems. We developed Pork Chomps after our extensive veterinary study affirmed pork skin to be a safe alternative to beef rawhide. Unfortunately, demand for rawhide is still high in the U.S., with most rawhide being imported from Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia. Due to the limited supply of U.S. pork skin, and in order to be competitive with rawhide, we must import pork skin. Our ultimate goal is providing a safe rawhide alternative for dogs at a reasonable price. Pork Chomps are manufactured in a plant that produces chews exclusively for Scott Pet. A member of the Scott management team maintains an office on site. This has enabled us to implement and enforce the same strict guidelines when producing Pork Chomps that we maintain in our U.S. plants. It is with these measures that we can assure the safety of our product. Nothing in the Scott Pet line has ever been subject to any recalls in over 35 years in the industry.
